Clevis industrial production is a long process, which starts by extracting the clay a year before its use, followed by constant chemical and physical tests to assure clay precision and high quality.
The production is in a covered area of 20,000 m² within a total area 50,000 m².
Parapuan has 15 kilns; 6 bottle type (with an individual chimney, above the kiln) 7.5 m in diameter and 2.4 m high, 7 bottles 9.5 m in diameter by 2.80 m high and two round kilns 10 m in diameter and 2.80 m high with a chimney separated from the kiln.
The quantity of material per kiln will depend on the size of the piece to be fired. They are fired at 1200 C° and the firing cycle will depend on the material’s thickness and firing final temperature, which can vary between 4 and 8 days, not considering the kiln’s cooling time that is nearly the same.
Going to the environmental issues, firing is carried out in wood burning kilns with wood from reforestation.
Clevises are manufactured in vacuum rolling mills, of great pressure capacity in the extrusion. Parapuan has 4 vertical extruders of the German Rieterwerk brand and 3 horizontal extruders of the Bonfanti brand.
There is also the connection sector, where the 45° and 90° saddle, “T” and connections, 45° and 90° curves and others are produced, carefully machined by employees capacitated through a constant training policy.
